Paul D’Attanassio  I have been training with John for some time now, and I have noticed that I am  averaging 15-20 extra yards to my drive and my other clubs. I asked myself is this exercising really working, and I have to say yes. I feel I have a better tempo with my swing. I have been shooting around 73 of late!
Gary Anderson- My golf game is going well, considering I only play once, sometimes twice a week. My scores range from 85 to 95, which is ok with me. The best part of the program you put together for me, is the exercises. My lower back would give me trouble before the round was over, but since I've done some of the exercises, my back is good. Another part that helped, although I'm still working at it, is the rotation of the hips. This rotation, when performed as it should be, allows me to hit the ball further and straighter, which makes that hole easier to play. All and all, the suggestions you made have improved my game. Thanks for your help,

Hi John,                                                                                       Thanks for the TPI assessment. The profile I received was extremely informative and helped open my eyes to how I could easily improve my golf swing, lower my scoring and increase my distance. I’ve worked on the exercises I received and have a stronger core and increased flexibility and the results show in my improved golf swing. Great TPI assessment and program –thanks!

Hi John,
   After three months on the exercise program, I feel that my flexibility,   balance, and swing have all improved. I feel I have increased the range and width of my swing. I also feel that my swing will continue to improve as long as I stay on the program you have prescribed.
    My distance and accuracy have become more consistent as I have been adapting my swing to these changes. My swing speed has also increased. Thus far, my handicap has gone down almost two strokes. I definitely “feel” better when playing. I’m certain that I will be meeting with you in Nov./Dec. to reassess my overall fitness to see where I’m at.

As you recall, we first met when I took the "Titlelist Fitness Handicap" analysis in late December of 2007.  Based on this analysis, it was determined that I had above average strength but needed to work on flexibility and balance to better my golf   game.  As a result of this analysis and the great impression you made on me, I agreed to take a series of personal training sessions with you. This was one of the best commitments I have made in recent years. I now recognize that going to the gym is not all about cardiovascular and Cybex machines or free weights. While I was deeply motivated to improve my physical being, I must say your training methods coupled with your sincere commitment to work on my overall conditioning have given me positive results. John, I am starting to see some of the distance I had several years ago before I separated my shoulder. I'm sure it is because the stretching helped me to make a complete swing with out the feeling that my shoulder was coming apart. I have to confess I still can't touch my toes but I'm getting closer.  My wife and I enjoyed the program. Kathy hasn't been playing much golf lately, but when we did play on vacation in April and she did better. I would recommend this class to anyone and look forward to working with you again.

I work with John during the winter months of 2008 at the Harmon Club in Rockland, MA.

I signed up with John to specifically work on stretching and flexibility of the muscle groups associated with the golf swing. I worked with John in both small group settings and individually.

I was extremely pleased with the results that I achieved with flexibility, rotation, balance and endurance. My golf swing is much more in balance and now has the proper weight shift and tempo that I was searching for. John gives you your money’s worth and works you to your individual maximum ability. Dear John,

I just wanted to thank you for the difference you made for me in my golf game and my overall health over the past year.  When I came to you last fall I knew that I wanted to create a workout to specifically aid my golf game and I came to the right person.    Your understanding of your field and your ability to make the process of training enjoyable are a great combination.

Through your training I improved my balance, strength flexibility and endurance.  This helped me to do several things.  First, the improvement in my balance, flexibility and strength really helped me to practice better swing technique with my swing coach.  Second, I was always able to finish eighteen holes with plenty of energy to spare.  This allowed me to keep strong technique and better mental focus throughout my round.  Lastly, I was able to hit the ball farther with less effort.

Over the season I went from a 12 to a 5.7 handicap, I beat last year’s club champion (a +2 handicap) in the first round of my Club Championship, and my father and I won the Club Championship for team match play.   I feel great about what I accomplished this year with my golf game.  You were a big part of that success and I want you to know how much I appreciate your work.

For anyone who is serious about improving their golf game or just wants to smart about getting in shape, I would recommend you highly.

I participated in the golf fitness program at Harmon with John McPherson and have to say that I was very surprised.  I enjoyed it very much.  At first I thought I was too much of a novice when it comes to fitness, and maybe I was not in good enough shape to attend the class. But that proved me wrong.  I was able to do all of the aspects of the class and was very pleased with my results. The biggest thing that I really noticed when I brought it into my golf game was that my balance had improved so much.  I used to sway over the ball & have not such good contact, now I make sure I am in my right position, pelvic tilt, and I am balanced and know I'm in the correct stance.  What a difference! I highly recommend this class to everyone at all levels of golf and fitness.

My name is Steven Burak and I have been training with Titleist Performance Institute certified trainer John McPherson for the past six months. During this time period I have seen a noticeable change in my physical appearance as well as my golf swing. With John’s help I have increased my strength and range of motion which has had a positive effect on my golf swing. With my new-found core strength, it is now easier for me to keep correct posture and proper position throughout my swing. The result of this training has added length to my game, but more importantly, it has created more consistently straight golf shots with all my clubs.
One of the great advantages of using John over ordinary fitness trainers is his understanding of golf swing mechanics. The program John employs for me is custom designed based on his assessment of my swing weaknesses. John obtains this information working directly with my swing coach, Mike Gibson, to maximize the golf impact of our workouts. Once I achieve the proper strength level for his intended goal, I am immediately put on the range so John can assess the positive impact of our work. From there, John redesigns the plan to address other areas of concern.
